If this is your intended use, you will also want to think about insulating your shed and consider any necessary electric or sewer hookups that will increase your cost. It is also important to check with your township or municipality to see what requirements must be met to allow you to legally live in your 10×20 portable storage shed. Shed City was very helpfull in working with me on the design of my shed . They were able to schedule around my work , for delivery of the shed ; and were able to navigate around a couple of trees and up a small hill to place the shed in an area that I had excavated and leveled for them . I am very pleased with the communication and service provided . Nancy Heard 6 months ago
Check the restrictions or covenants your neighborhood has for building sheds. For instance, many cities and neighborhoods will dictate the specific distance from a property line or fence line that a shed must be built. This may determine what type and size of shed you can build. Also, do you need to submit any architectural forms to your neighborhood HOA or acquire a building permit from your city?
Ordered a solid construction shed, Mitch came and looked over the location and said it can be moved in but could be difficult with some large rocks in the location. Mitch came and checked the leveling and measured area again before delivery...and sent email to update delivery. Shane and Mitch looked the area over and it was a difficult alley entering into the location. The backup went well until the 90 degree turn for the final location by the rocks. Shane and Mitch are amazing, good workers and get the job done! Shed looks great! Thanks Shane and Mitch for an interesting and great morning. Jason Santo 2 years ago
Wouldn’t it be lovely if it was big enough to move your DIY supplies in there, or to have a girlfriend over for coffee and scones?
At the end of the day, any shed we sell you will be attractive and dependable for decades to come. We’d never offer a product that would do anything less. Keep in mind, though, that every single one of our pieces is hand-built by a skilled Amish craftsman — and not all sheds are built to the same standard of quality.
However, when you are looking at the various brands of plastic sheds, you need to pay close attention to the amount of force it is likely to take for someone to break the lock off or force the door open

Jeff, this is a really good question. The bold and unmitigated answer is “No.” But it’s not because we didn’t want to, we just didn’t have the time to build the shed and get everything else done we’re working on – and we needed to get some things into storage so we could work on the shop. I expect that the materials for our shed probably ran about $1,000-1,300, but that’s just a guess. Usually I expect labor to be about 50-60% of the job in our area when we have to contract stuff out.
